Located approximately two miles east of Hwy. 30, in
Grubville, MO. the Big River Saddle Park, is a unit
of the Jefferson County Parks Department, and is
also host to horse shows produced by local
organizations.
There is
parking all around the show pen and many well shaded spots
for early arrivals on show days. The arena is large,
surrounded by chain link fence, but there is only a minimal,
unfenced, practice area. A margin of grass around the pen is
sufficient for lawn chair set up.
The
facility is open to the public for general riding on
days when there is no show. There are primitive restroom
facilities. Riders are required to tether horses to
trailers, rather than the many trees surrounding the
parking areas.
